From instrumental to vocal ensembles, Colgate hosts music groups for a variety of disciplines. Music ensembles are open to all students.

University Orchestra

Directed by Marietta Cheng, the Colgate University Orchestra is a performance outlet for the full campus community, mixing music majors, nonmajors, faculty, staff, and professional musicians.

Directed by Sinhaeng Lee, the University Choirs at Colgate provides opportunities for musicians of all levels and abilities to perform the choral masterworks as well as a broad range of other pieces.

Concert Jazz Ensemble

Directed by Joseph Carello, the concert jazz ensemble allows students to enjoy an engaging jazz experience. Perform jazz classics and modern big band jazz works while interacting with knowledgeable and high-profile guest artists. All students are given the opportunity and encouragement to improvise.

Chamber Players

Directed by Hilary Glen, Colgate Chamber Players perform major works of the chamber music repertoire (primarily piano and strings) at four or five concerts during the year at a variety of venues on campus and in Hamilton.
