University Museums comprises the Longyear Museum of Anthropology and the Picker Art Gallery. Our staff are committed to enriching the intellectual and cultural life on campus through collections, exhibitions, and public programs.

As Colgate embarks on its Third Century vision for arts, creativity, and innovation, the teaching mission becomes the guiding principle for University Museums. During this year, a Steering Committee of three faculty members will oversee the work of aligning University Museums’ programming with this vision and mission. Each member of the University Museums Steering Committee (UMSC) has assumed a coordination role.

  • Coordinator for the Longyear Museum of Anthropology: Michelle Bigenho, chair of sociology and anthropology
  • Coordinator for the Picker Art Gallery: Lesleigh Cushing, associate dean of the faculty
  • Coordinator of Museum Operations: Liz Marlowe, program director for museums studies

Trish St. Leger, vice provost for administration and planning, will provide support to the UMSC on matters related to budget, staff, and other resources.
