Colgate’s study group to Cardiff, Wales focuses on the natural sciences and mathematics.
Research Opportunities
Colgate’s chemistry program is distinctive for undergraduates because they have an opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research directly with their professors.
Curricular Research
All chemistry and biochemistry majors conduct a full academic year of original research during their senior year. They do so in collaboration with one or more faculty members.
Typically, students join an ongoing research project with a faculty member in the department. Faculty research interests are outlined below on this page.
Off-Campus Study
With several off-campus study programs designed specifically for those in the sciences, chemistry students at Colgate are free to add real-world experience to their resumes while staying on track academically.
Facilities
The chemistry department features over 10,000 square feet of dynamic teaching and research laboratories. Students have the opportunity to use advanced, research-grade instrumentation in their instructional laboratories and when conducting research with faculty.
