Here’s a reference guide to help with any unfamiliar terms, processes, or programs:
- Academic Advising: Your FSEM instructor will serve as your academic adviser until you declare a major.
- Community Leaders (CLs): These live-in student staff members are responsible for facilitating the development of each of their residential communities while supporting their peers with challenges in residential living and campus life.
- First-Year Seminar (FSEM): In the fall, you will take a First-Year Seminar (pronounced F-sem) designed to introduce you to Colgate’s academic environment.
- Residential Commons: You will be assigned to your Commons according to the FSEM you will be taking. This will help to bridge the living and learning aspects of your Colgate experience.
