SOMAC and Madison County EMS Operations FAQ

SOMAC has decided to discontinue EMS operations, and Madison County EMS will now provide coverage for the SOMAC ambulance district. Colgate has been actively engaged in discussions with Madison County Emergency Management and SOMAC to better understand the implications of this transition for our community and to understand the availability of essential emergency response capabilities on our campus.

Safety Advisory Committee

Mission Statement

The Safety Advisory Committee supports a safe learning, living, and working environment at Colgate University through risk analysis and mitigation while promoting a culture of safety with actively engaged community members.

Charge to the Committee

To ensure a safe workplace and learning environment for the Colgate University community, the Safety Advisory Committee will meet at least quarterly. The SAC is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and providing mitigation solutions to university-wide safety issues.

Drone Safety

Colgate University supports the safe use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) / drones for academic, research, and recreational purposes. The university's flight management system is a valuable resource designed to ensure the safe use of drones in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
