Additional Educational Modules/Portal Launch

Back to Messages to New Students

At Colgate, we believe in the importance of creating a safe and healthy environment for all of our community members. We have partnered with Vector Solutions to provide the following trainings:

  • AlcoholEdu
  • Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU)

These training sessions help us all to be informed on topics that are vital to achieving a safe and healthy community. The trainings are interactive and were developed using best practices. They cover a variety of important issues related to sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual harassment, bystander intervention, substance use and misuse, harm reduction, and campus policies and resources.

Please complete the AlcoholEdu and SAPU courses by August 6, scoring a minimum of 80% on the assessments. Completion of these courses is required as part of your role as a new student at Colgate University.

Below you will find a few resources and helpful hints that may be useful as you work through the training modules.

  • Make sure that you take the trainings when you have sufficient time and a place where you can focus.
  • Take notes, as you might, for an in-person course.
  • Work at your own pace from any computer or tablet.
  • Courses will save your progress if you need to stop and return later.
  • Courses are best supported by the latest versions of Chrome (preferred), Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge.
  • If you have difficulty with the Vector LMS platform, please contact itshelp@colgate.edu.

If you are in need of an accommodation related to a disability, please contact the Office of Student Disability Services at 315-228-7375. If you would like to talk with a trained staff member or intern confidentially about the sexual assault prevention course material, please contact Haven, Colgate's sexual violence resource center.

New Colgate Portal Launch

We'd also like to share that our new desktop Colgate Portal launches on Thursday, July 10, with a companion mobile app available soon after. No action is needed - your login credentials will stay the same. The new platform offers the same links and resources in a more intuitive layout with quick access to your most frequently used tools, important reminders, and campus events. To help you navigate the new interface and features, there will be a walkthrough tutorial when you first log in.

The Colgate Portal will be briefly unavailable during the platform transition on July 10 between 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m.
