The Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute’s (ISI) Visiting Fellow Program brings distinguished scholars and professionals to Colgate for short-term residencies that spark interdisciplinary collaboration.

Fellows may come from universities, industries, or other research institutions. Their presence on campus introduces fresh ideas, methods, and perspectives that enrich the University’s intellectual community.

Visiting fellows collaborate with faculty on research projects, mentor students, and lead workshops or seminars. They also share their expertise with the broader community through public lectures, ensuring their impact extends beyond research labs and classrooms. These visits often serve as catalysts for new projects, publications, and long-term partnerships.

For faculty, visiting fellows provide opportunities to advance ongoing work, test new directions, and build networks that can grow into external collaborations and funding. Students benefit from having access to inspirational mentors who model what it means to do world-class research. With this program, Picker ISI ensures its community remains dynamic, diverse, and globally connected.
