Individual Therapy

The counseling center provides students with the opportunity to explore a variety of issues and challenges with one of our amazing counselors in a comfortable setting. Students seek individual therapy for an array of concerns including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety and stress, roommate, relationship, and family conflicts, bereavement or grief from a personal loss, self-esteem issues, and adjustment.

To meet with a counselor:

  1. Attend our walk-in hours Monday-Friday 9 am-noon, 1:30 pm-4:30 pm. You can schedule a follow up appointment or request a specific counselor.
  2. If the walk-in hours do not fit your schedule, email counselingcenter@colgate.edu to request a scheduled appointment.


When you arrive for your first counseling appointment you will check-in at the front desk. Check-in forms take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Most first counseling appointments are about 30 minutes and follow up appointments are 30-45 minutes.
