Colgate University received funding on May 7, 2020 from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) established under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which was passed by Congress and signed into law on March 27, 2020. A portion of these funds are to be used to issue direct grants to students whose lives have been disrupted by COVID-19.
