Back to Economics News and Updates

The economics department at Colgate is proud to announce that Dean Corbae, Class of 1982, was recently elected as a fellow of the Econometric Society. This is a prestigious appointment, as it “recognizes important contributions to economics, and fellows represent the highest authority of the society.”

Founded in 1930, the Econometric Society is an international society for the advancement of economic theory in relation to statistics and mathematics. Professor Dean Corbae is currently the William Sellery Trukenbrod Chair in finance at the University of Wisconsin School of Business. Professor Don Waldman, professor emeritus, was Dean’s academic adviser at Colgate. Professor Nicole Simpson was fortunate to have Dean as one of her professors while in graduate school.

Congratulations, Dean! The Colgate Department of Economics is honored to have you as one of our distinguished alumni.
