Major Requirements
In addition to the requirements outlined below, majors in the Classics are encouraged to take at least two CLAS courses and are also encouraged to take at least one 400-level Latin seminar. Those intending to pursue graduate study should take a 400-level Latin seminar by the fall of their senior year.
Greek and Latin Electives

- Two 300-level Latin Electives
Additional Upper Level Electives
- Two Additional Upper Level (300- or 400-level) Greek or Latin Electives
Classics Electives
- Two Additional Classics Electives
Senior Seminar
GPA Requirement
No departmental course with a grade of less than C– is credited toward a major. For graduation, the minimum GPA required in courses counting toward a major is 2.00 (C). All departmental courses taken are used to calculate the major GPA for the classics.
