Call for Proposals: Upstate Institute and Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute Grants

Dear Colgate Faculty,

We are excited to announce a call for proposals from the Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute (Picker ISI) and the Upstate Institute for the 2024–25 academic year. We encourage faculty to apply for these opportunities to enhance interdisciplinary science at Colgate or research and discourse in upstate New York. Please be aware that despite being mentioned in the same email, these are two distinct grant opportunities.

Picker ISI Minor Grants (Deadline: January 26, 2024):

  • Funding: Up to $30,000 for up to two years.
  • Scope: Supports interdisciplinary research projects and activities in science and mathematics. Supported activities include low-cost research projects, workshops, travel, or course release for project exploration or course development.
  • Apply via email to Char Howard at choward@colgate.edu.

 

Upstate Institute Grants (Deadline: January 26, 2024):

  • Individual Research Projects: Up to $5,000 for research related to upstate New York.
  • Symposia, Workshops, Conferences: Up to $2,500 to organize events on upstate New York issues, open to the public and scheduled in the upcoming academic year.
