Staff Affirmative Action Oversight Committee
The Staff Affirmative Action Oversight Committee monitors progress towards affirmative action goals in hiring and retaining non-academic administrators, professionals, and staff.
The committee shares responsibility with the Faculty Affirmative Action Oversight Committee for supporting and overseeing the production of the University’s annual Affirmative Action Report. When appropriate, the committee provides recommendations and suggestions for improved diversity, equity, and inclusion engagement, specifically in recruitment and retention practices.
Personnel Policies and Procedures
This policy addresses prohibited conduct (including sexual misconduct) by individual members of the campus community. However, the University also accepts complaints about discrimination or discriminatory impact caused by a policy, procedure, or practice of the University, or a specific university department, office, or operating unit. The procedural documents outline the process for addressing prohibited conduct.
Student Policies and Procedures
Our policy sets forth behavioral expectations for all Colgate University students, and our procedures provide information about available supportive and protective measures. The scope of Colgate's sexual misconduct policy and procedures covers Title IX Violations as well as University Standard Violations.
International Family Staff Sponsorship Program
Colgate is piloting a new initiative designed to help fill critical vacancies while also providing additional support for international employees. This program aligns with the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion for the institution, and it serves as another tool for retaining current employees.
Trainings and Workshops
The Office of Equity and Diversity offers trainings and workshops through out the year to interested faculty and staff.
Who to Contact About a Concern
As a student, faculty or staff member, you have options when it comes to reporting. Colgate encourages the reporting of any concerns related to sexual assault and harassment, discrimination and/or bias-motivated acts or behavior, so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
You are not alone and there are members of the campus and outside communities that are available to support you throughout the process from reporting, to investigation, and on to a criminal trial or on campus hearing.
