Overview
On the London Economics study group, students spend a full semester living and learning in England. The group is accompanied by a Colgate faculty director who teaches part of the students’ course load.
Classroom activities and lodging are conveniently located in the Bloomsbury district of central London. This location in the heart of London maximizes students’ exposure to the many facets of cosmopolitan Euro-British culture.
Honors Program

Semester Study Groups
All Colgate study groups are led by a Colgate faculty member. The study groups are specially designed to maximize students’ experiences when studying abroad, while also maintaining high academic standards. All credits earned while studying with a Colgate off-campus study group earn Colgate course credit.
Volunteer Program
Student volunteers in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program gain practical real-world experience assisting regional low-income families with filing their income taxes.
Fed Challenge
Each year, Colgate economics students compete in the College Fed Challenge, a national competition involving presentations and proposals given to a panel of judges, including economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Colgate-Hamilton Economics Seminar Series
Colgate’s economics department jointly sponsors a seminar series throughout each semester in collaboration with the economics department at Hamilton College. The series invites visiting scholars to present their current research.
