The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC) is an annual conference that focuses on empowering and educating women in the field of computing. The conference, named after computing pioneer Admiral Grace Hopper, attracts nearly 20,000 female technologists each year and is the world's largest gathering of women in tech.
The Center for Family Justice is a nonprofit that serves victims of domestic and sexual abuse in Fairfield, Bridgeport, Monroe, Trumbull, Stratford, and Easton, Conn. By working closely with the development team, I learned more about what goes into running a nonprofit.
I spent a total of 150 hours doing online work with the instructor and all of the homework hours as well. After participating in this program, I am now able to skip year two of my Arabic program at Colgate.
I am considering a career-goal change to the field of medicine and this course helped me explore the health care system and field of emergency medicine while gaining the ability to serve my community volunteer as an EMT.
I worked with the design team and added my own insights to current projects. I also helped acquire new leads for the UX Bureau, in addition to working with clients directly.
