Glossary of Terms
To help with any unfamiliar terms, processes, or programs mentioned in my emails, I’ve put together this reference guide:
- Academic Advising: Your FSEM instructor will serve as your academic adviser until you declare a major.
- First-Year Seminar (FSEM): In the fall you will take a First-Year Seminar (pronounced F-sem) designed to introduce you to Colgate’s academic environment.
- Community Reads: This is the first opportunity for you to engage with the practice of the liberal arts through a shared read.
This week’s fun fact: Hamilton, N.Y., has recently been named one of the 12 most welcoming towns in the U.S. according to World Atlas.
