Department of Physics & Astronomy Receives 2022 Award for Improving Undergraduate Physics Education

The departmental effort of improving the educational experience for students, restructuring introductory courses, providing research opportunities, and developing a sense of community has been recognized by the American Physical Society (APS) with the 2022 Award for Improving Undergraduate Physics Education.  The improvements have led to growth in the majors with an average of 25 graduates per year in the last seven years, with about 21% of the graduates being from underrepresented groups.
