Hi! I am a political science major and writing and rhetoric/Middle Eastern and Islamic studies double minor from Washington, D.C. In addition to working at the writing center, I am an SAT tutor and admissions tour guide/greeter. Though I have the most experience with the humanities and social sciences, I enjoy reading pieces from all disciplines and look forward to learning new things from what I read! I am totally willing to help with any assignment at any stage of the writing process.

Hi! I’m a history major and writing and rhetoric minor from Manhasset, New York. Most of my writing experience is in the humanities and the social sciences, but I’ve taken a variety of classes at Colgate including in subjects like archaeology, philosophy, and geology, so I am happy to help with work from all disciplines! Aside from working as a writing consultant, I am part of the Women’s Rugby Team, Greek life, and the Maroon News. I’m so excited to meet you!

Greetings, True Believers!! I am a psychological science major with a philosophy minor, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. I enjoy building strong argumentative papers as well as literature analysis, plus spicing things up on my presentations. Nonetheless, I am more than willing to help with any writing assignment! I also am involved in MMA, a few bands on campus, as well as a few dance groups and Midnight Philosophy. And, shameless plug here, I’ll be teaching Colgate’s first financial literacy course!! So if you’re interested, shoot me an email! :D I cannot wait to meet you!

Hello! My name is Samantha and I am a double major in anthropology and French! I’m from Northern Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.!) and I came to Colgate for the weather, though no one believes me when I tell them that. I have a lot of experience reading and writing papers in the humanities and social sciences, but I’d be thrilled to help with any assignment at any stage! In addition to working at the Writing Center, I spend my time reading fiction novels or baking for my sorority house. I can’t wait to meet you!

Hello! I am an applied math major from Rochester, New York, and I am also interested in education studies and chemistry. In high school, I had considered myself much more of a math and science student than an English one, but I’ve grown more interested in the reading and writing side of school in the past few years and have loved working with people at the center! Outside of school, I really like crafting and spending time outside. I look forward to working with you and your writing, at any stage in your writing process!

Hello! I am a self-designed comparative literature major (with concentrations in English and Chinese) from Changwon, South Korea. My forte is definitely literary analysis, but I have also written papers and reviews for introductory courses in film and media studies, history, astronomy, and Jewish studies and more. Outside of the Writing Center I enjoy doing yoga, taking a walk in the trails, and knitting. Whether you’re a seasoned writer who wants feedback on how the paper reads, or you are feeling confused by the conventions of academic English writing, I’m here to help!

Hi! I’m a molecular biology major with a double minor in Spanish and medieval and Renaissance studies from Tucson, Arizona. On campus, I ride on the equestrian team and play the flute in the orchestra. Off campus, I love to hike and travel, as well as canoeing, kayaking, and any sport that involves water. I also love reading and writing, so no matter what kind of essay you’re writing, I’d love to help out at any point in the process!

Hello there! My name is Minh Khue and I’m a mathematical economics major from Hanoi, Vietnam. Outside of the writing center, I serve as a Community Leader for Parker Apartments and enjoy watercoloring and making music in my free time. I’m beyond excited to meet and work with you all!

Hey! I’m a political science and English double major from Brooklyn, NY. As a transfer student with no direction, I ended up in many--many--existential philosophy and literature courses. As a result, I became quite decent at writing analytical papers. When I’m not writing papers or at the writing center, you can find me at the pool or falling off the Angert climbing wall. I’d love to be a part of your writing process!

Hello! I’m an environmental studies and anthropology double major from southern Maine. I have the most academic experience writing for disciplines within the social sciences and university studies, but am happy to help students of all majors. In addition to being a WSC consultant, I work for Colgate’s museums and galleries and am a leader of the Empower Hour club. I look forward to getting to know you and your writing!

Hi! I’m a molecular biology major and sociology minor on the pre-med track from Westchester, NY. I hope to be a doctor in a subspecialty of pediatrics. However, I am happy to help in any discipline at any point in the writing process! In addition to working in the Writing Center, I volunteer through Colgate High School Tutors and am a part of Greek life.

Hello! I’m a history major from Lawrence, MA. I am most experienced writing analytical essays in the humanities and social sciences, but I have also perused many scientific papers through my Rhetoric of Science course. Outside of the classroom, I often exercise with friends, watch the NFL, NBA, or UFC, and read nonfiction. I also enjoy participating in community engagement, which prompted me to teach at my former middle school and volunteer at my local meal center this summer. I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your writing journey!

Hey! I study history and educational studies, and I am from Cazenovia, New York. Most of my writing experience is in the social sciences and humanities. However, I’m looking forward to learning about new subjects from reading various papers at the writing center. Outside of writing, I am a part of Link staff, club skiing and tennis, Benton scholars, and the Haven ambassador program. I love reading fiction and taking walks around our beautiful campus. I can’t wait to begin working with you!

Hi! I’m an English major with a minor in writing and rhetoric. I was born and raised in Chicago. I really enjoy watching reality television shows and reading graphic novels. In addition to working in the writing center, I can be found giving tours on campus or riding my bike somewhere around Hamilton.

Hi!! I’m an international relations major and double minor in writing and rhetoric and Caribbean Studies. I’m from Brooklyn, New York but I grew up in Antigua! A random quote that’s currently inspiring me as a writer is “I hope to write something that’s worth plagiarizing" (even though we avoid plagiarism at all cost). I’m happy to help in any way that I can and I look forward to meeting new people!

Hi! I am from Westchester, NY and am planning on majoring in psychological science with minors in writing and rhetoric and Spanish. I am involved in a few clubs on campus such as EngAGE and Liberty Kids and am always looking for ways to connect with new people on campus!

Hello! I plan on majoring in mathematical economics and minoring in both history and film and media studies. I am from San Anselmo, California (approximately 20 miles north of San Francisco). Tentatively, I intend on pursuing a career in finance, specifically investment banking. I enjoy interacting with creative outlets such as literature and film. Some books I enjoy include Infinite Jest, Pale Fire, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Some of my favorite films include Mulholland Drive, Rushmore, and Pi. I look forward to meeting new people through the Writing and Speaking Center!

Hi! I’m an English and political science double major who enjoys reading young adult fiction books in addition to any type of paper brought into the center. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and miss the more consistent weather there but am looking forward to some snow! On campus, I am involved with the Writing and Speaking Center, the Maroon News, the Pre-Law Society, and the Colgate Vote Project. I am eager to be a resource for students in any area of study and I look forward to meeting you!

Hi!! I’m an international relations major with a minor in global public and environmental health. I’m from Baltimore, MD and live about 30 minutes away from Washington, DC. I love watching movies (especially horror) and trying new foods and restaurants! I would consider myself extroverted and will go to extreme measures to entertain my friends and make sure they have a good laugh. I’m also interested in sustainability and environmental justice. I love to read and write and am equal parts nervous and excited to work in the writing center this semester. I hope to grow as a writer and learn about how to offer support for those who want help. And most of all I am so excited to be a part of this community, work with you all, and make new friends!
