At last Monday's meeting, we encouraged faculty members to share their thoughts and feedback with the AI Task Force.

I write to provide you with information on this year’s self-report process. Self-reports ask you to identify noteworthy aspects of your teaching, scholarship, and service during the most recent academic year (Sept. 1, 2025, through Aug. 31, 2026).

The Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty will be sponsoring Faculty Research Retreats for the 2025–26 academic year.

The rhythm of the academic year provides us with a number of opportunities to come together as a full faculty.

The Office of the Dean of the College and the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty encourage you to continue conversations with students outside the classroom. We have set aside funding to support several opportunities for student-faculty interaction during the semester.

Founders’ Day Convocation is one of the most meaningful gatherings of Colgate’s academic year.

As you finalize your syllabi for the fall of 2026, we write with some information relevant to your teaching this coming term. Please note that there is additional and updated AI guidance below.

As you finalize your course plans, I invite you to submit applications to the Beyond Colgate program, which supports course-related travel to local and regional destinations for fall 2026.

For the fall 2026 semester, please order all course materials before May 15.
