The Office of the Dean of the College and the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty encourage you to continue conversations with students outside the classroom.

For anyone intending to propose a new course to the Curriculum Committee, please read on. The New Course Proposal Form is linked in this message and may also be found on the Curriculum Committee website. New course proposals should be submitted using this Google form and are due February 9, 2026.

As you finalize your course plans, I invite you to submit applications to the Beyond Colgate program, which supports course-related travel for spring 2026.

We are writing to solicit applications for three course development programs for the 2026–27 academic year that are supported by the Office of the Provost and Dean of the Faculty (PDOF), the Upstate Institute, and the Max A. Shacknai Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (COVE), respectively.

Information on this year’s self-report process. Self-reports ask you to identify noteworthy aspects of your teaching, scholarship, and service during the most recent academic year).

I write to offer you updates about Colgate’s Institutes for Advanced Study: the Lampert Institute for Civic and Global Affairs, the Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute, the Upstate Institute, and their counterpart, the Center for Freedom and Western Civilization.

I am writing to invite you to apply to teach in the Sophomore Residential Seminars (SRS) program for the 2026–27 academic year.

The rhythm of the academic year provides us with a number of opportunities to come together as a full faculty. In the fall semester, we gather on the first Monday of every month for faculty meetings; in the spring, we shift to the last Monday of the month. We also gather socially at events called “tunks.”

Colgate continues to support faculty involvement in conference participation and/or attendance. Eligible faculty (described below) are given an allotment of up to $2,250 per year to attend or present at professional meetings.

As you finalize your syllabi for the fall of 2025, we write with some information relevant to your teaching this coming term.
