President Brian W. Casey's statement on the observance of Juneteenth.

I want to start out this message with a note of appreciation and gratitude to the Maroon-News for the work of its editors and staff writers in putting together a thoughtful and comprehensive editorial about the history of racism and racist incidents on the Colgate campus, published on June 9, 2020.

On March 12, with safety and wellbeing at the forefront of our thoughts, we asked students to return home for the remainder of the semester. The days and weeks since then have been unlike anything we have witnessed in our lifetime.

In response to the coronavirus threat, we announced this week that we are moving all of our teaching online, and we have asked students to leave the campus as soon as they safely can.

In accordance with recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Colgate is now restricting all University-sponsored travel to countries with a level 3 or 4 CDC travel advisory.
