Responsible for the selection, purchase, evaluation, binding, and management of all monographs, serials, audio recordings, and films in the Colgate Libraries.  Work closely with the Head of Digital Initiatives and Resources. Hire, supervise and train three paraprofessionals in the management and acquisition of materials using the III Millennium Acquisitions & Serials system. Formulate, allocate, and manage a materials budget of over 2.1 million dollars. Initiate and implement collection development policy for all formats. Coordinate collection development and maintenance activities for library liaisons and work closely with faculty in identifying, selecting and ordering titles for purchase. Implement and evaluate standing orders and approval plans. Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate business contracts. Participate in cooperative collection development and collection maintenance activities within the 18 member ConnectNY. Co-coordinator of the ConnectNY Shared Print Trust project Oct. 2012- . Serve on the reference desk and teach information literacy classes. Liaison to Native American Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, German, and Linguistics.

 Acquisitions & Collection Development Librarian, 1985-1987, St. Lawrence University Library, Canton, NY. Supervised two full-time paraprofessionals in the acquisition of some 15,000 volumes per year using the OCLC acquisitions subsystem. Formulated collection development policy for monographs, monitored standing orders, and established a university press approval plan. Represented the library to vendors and evaluated vendor performance. Allocated and managed a materials budget of $625,000. Worked closely with faculty in identifying, selecting and ordering titles for purchase. Also supervised one part-time paraprofessional in bindery operations.  Provided reference assistance and taught information literacy classes.

In addition to general reference desk service initiated, implemented, and coordinated biannual term paper clinics; provided and promoted bibliographic instruction; performed online information retrieval (BRS, Dialog) and assisted in the drafting of online searching policy. Contributed to reference collection development, and coordinated retrospective collection development among the librarians.  Served as the liaison to the Career Planning Center.
