Colgate offers multiple options to get you home to rest and recharge during school breaks.

Beginning of Semester Shuttle

Colgate offers free shuttle service to campus for students arriving at the following locations at the beginning of the semester:

  • Syracuse Hancock International Airport
  • Syracuse Bus Station
  • Utica Train Station

Important Shuttle Details

Inbound travel only: Shuttles are available only for transportation from these locations to campus. They cannot be used for trips from Colgate to the airport, bus station, or train station.

One ride per student: Each student may use the free shuttle service once during the arrival period.

Megabus

Megabus offers trips from campus to Port Authority in New York City for academic breaks. Pick-up and drop-off will be in front of the James C. Colgate Student Union on College St.

Regional Buses

Colgate offers regional bus service to New York City/New Jersey and Boston/Springfield during breaks. Cost is $100 each way.

Regional buses will not run at the end of the semester. 

Route Details

New York City / New Jersey Bus

Departs: Donovan’s Pub, Colgate

  • Route: First stops at Vince Lombardi Rest Area, then continues to Bryant Park

Return to Colgate: Departs Bryant Park, then travels via Vince Lombardi Rest Area

After dropping off at Bryant Park, the bus does not return to Vince Lombardi again on departure.

Boston / Springfield Bus

Departs: Donovan’s Pub, Colgate

  • Route: Travels to Boston, then on to Springfield

Return to Colgate: Departs Boston, then stops in Springfield en route back

Cancellation / No-Show Policy

Cancellations must be submitted via email to transportation@colgate.edu at least 48 hours prior to departure. Any cancellations made within 48 hours, or not submitted via email, will be fully charged.

Traffic and weather conditions can affect estimated times; the transportation department does not continuously broadcast bus locations or delays.
