William Peck, Professor and Chair in the Department of Geology, has been named the Gretchen Hoadley Burke ’81 Endowed Chair in Regional Studies for one year, beginning July 1, 2021.

Despite the last-minute switch to remote research, 160 students went forward with research projects this summer.

Each summer, Field School Fellows conduct research in partnership with community and nonprofit organizations in the Upstate New York region. In the summer of 2020, this research took place virtually but over twenty students were still able to complete valuable community-based projects.
