Students don’t come pre-programmed knowing how to navigate college. Colgate’s new required Living and Learning Workshops (LLWs), which take place on Fridays, introduce first-year students to liberal arts topics, skills, and ways of learning.
When severe winter weather strikes, Colgate follows a careful process, managed by the Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), for evaluating and determining its impact on day-to-day campus operations. The procedures support a commitment to the safety of community members and their ability to participate in the University’s academic mission.
Membership in a fraternity or sorority comes with specific training requirements, as well as support. Families of new members may wish to understand more about this experience and will want to be familiar with Colgate's expectations of members.
