Colgate Professors Recognized as Best of The Academic Minute

Two radio segments written and voiced by Colgate professors have been recognized as the best of the year in their respective categories by the producers of The Academic Minute, a nationally syndicated radio production of Albany National Public Radio affiliate WAMC.

Associate Professor of Biology and Biology Department Chair Krista Ingram earned best psychology segment for her recording about the decision making differences of early birds and night owls.

Assistant Professor of Writing and Rhetoric Jennifer LeMesurier garnered the best political science segment for her piece about the ancient history of knitting as a form of protest.

The Academic Minute features researchers from colleges and universities from around the world and is hosted by Lynn Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities. The Academic Minute airs on WAMC each weekday at 7:30 a.m and 3:56 p.m., and a full archive of previous segments can be found at academicminute.org.

Other Colgate professors featured on the program have included Roy D. and Margaret B. Wooster Professor of the Classics Robert Garland, Assistant Professor of Psychology Erin Cooley, and Assistant Professor of Educational Studies Ashley Taylor.
