The Colgate community rallied together to celebrate QueerFest 2013, a weeklong series of events hosted by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Initiatives and several other student organizations.
Last weekend, Colgate’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favor of the construction of a new $37.8 million, 97,000-square-foot athletic facility, contingent on the receipt of $25 million in gifts. Colgate hockey head coach Don Vaughan revealed Tuesday that defenseman Spiro Goulakos ’15 has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer originating from white blood cells in the lymph nodes. Goulakos has left school and the team to begin chemotherapy in his native Montreal.
After a national search, Victoria “Vicky” Chun ’91, MA’94 has been named athletics director of Colgate University effective January 1, President Jeffrey Herbst announced today. Chun, who has served as interim athletics director since August 1, will report to Douglas Hicks, provost and dean of the faculty.
