Colgate’s connection to this year’s U.S. Open makes his major championship debut Thursday afternoon. Jesse Smith ’03 tied for medalist honors last week at Century Country Club & Old Oaks Country Club in Purchase, N.Y., earning automatic qualification into his first U.S. Open. The Colgate community rallied together to celebrate QueerFest 2013, a weeklong series of events hosted by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Initiatives and several other student organizations. 

Last weekend, Colgate’s Board of Trustees voted unanimously in favor of the construction of a new $37.8 million, 97,000-square-foot athletic facility, contingent on the receipt of $25 million in gifts.
