Everything you need to know about short-term employment opportunities at Colgate.
How to Apply
An up-to-date online employment application is required for those seeking to be employed at Colgate. This requires applying to a job posting on the Colgate Careers page.
Applicants interested in casual or summer employment may apply to any of the temporary postings or department specific casual/temporary/summer postings that are listed.
Paper, emailed, and faxed applications and resumes cannot be accepted.
Selection and Hiring Process
Selection decisions are made by the actual hiring department rather than Human Resources. Hiring departments typically contact applicants directly should they be interested in offering an interview.
New York State Department of Labor regulates the employment of minors (under age 18). Given these specific regulatory requirements, those hired at Colgate, in most cases, must be 18 years of age or older. On rare occasions when someone 16 years or older is hired, working papers must be provided and the limitations, as outlined by the NYS Department of Labor, must be strictly adhered to.
Background Screening Process
All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Colgate requires background checks on all hires age 18 and over.
Upon confirmation from the hiring department, Human Resources will initiate the web-based background check for the new hire.
Onboarding/New Hire Paperwork
All new hires must visit the Human Resources office to complete paperwork prior to their start date. For convenience, some of the required paperwork may be printed and brought in completed to Human Resources.
For compliance requirements under the Immigration and Naturalization Service, new employees must bring to Human Resources original unexpired documents that establish both identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of hire. A list of acceptable documents is available from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.
