Additional Ceremony Viewing Facilities (No Ticket Required)
A live webcast of the commencement ceremony will be available on campus, whether the ceremony is indoors or outside. The location will be wheelchair accessible and will be open at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The live webcast can be viewed on smartphones, tablets, or computers and will be hosted on Colgate’s home page during the ceremony, and later transferred to the Commencement Archives.
Accessible restrooms are located at the commencement ceremony site and at Memorial Chapel. Additional facilities can be found at James C. Colgate Student Union and Little Hall. Please view the campus map for more details.
There will be signers at the baccalaureate service and commencement ceremony. If you or a guest will need an ASL interpreter, contact the Dean of the College’s office by May 1 at 315-228-7425 to reserve a seat in the designated area.
Reading devices will be available during the commencement ceremony on Sunday. Please see an usher for assistance in obtaining one for use during the ceremony.
Receptions are organized by individual departments; questions regarding accessibility should be directed to the particular department chair or program director. If you have any other questions or concerns related to accessibility, contact Campus Safety at 315-228-7333.
Staff members will be driving golf carts on Sunday to help transport guests parked in accessible parking lots to commencement seating. Guests who would like a ride should wave down a driver.
Accessible parking is located in the Alumni Lot for events taking place in the Chapel, and the Case-Geyer Library Lot and Lally Lane for the Senior Torchlight Procession and senior dinner. If the commencement ceremony takes place at the Taylor Lake site, accessible parking will be at Lally Lane and 113 Broad Street; if in Sanford Field House (severe weather location), parking will be in the lots surrounding Reid Athletic Center. If you need special drop-off arrangements, please see a campus safety officer for assistance. For safety reasons, we ask that there be no drop-offs on Broad Street (NY State Hwy 12B).
If you wish to become familiar with the commencement rain location, you can view the Sanford Field House seating map.
A list of wheelchair rental companies is available below. Pick-up and drop-off of wheelchairs should be arranged directly with the rental company. We will have a wheelchair available in Sanford Field House that can be used for transportation to seats.
