A limited number of University apartments are available for rental during some summer meets and tournaments hosted at Colgate.

The Bryan Complex is located on Oak Drive, 0.2 miles from Lineberry Natatorium.
It contains 44 suites, split between four wings. Each wing has two suites on the basement level, three suites on the first floor, three suites on the second floor, and three suites on the third floor.

Each suite has two to four bedrooms, containing a total of three to six beds.
Unlike the apartments, suites do not contain living rooms or kitchens. Each suite has its own bathroom. The complex is not air conditioned, so fans are recommended. Some of guests bring reading lamps, though overhead lights are in every bedroom.

The Newell Apartments are located on College Street, a half mile from Lineberry Natatorium. Newell contains 44 apartments, split between four buildings.

Each building has three apartments on the basement level (which is a half-flight of stairs down from ground level), four apartments on the first floor (which is a high-flight of stairs up from ground level), and four apartments on the second floor.

Most apartments fit three people  and include one single and one double. Six apartments, all in building two, are four-person apartments, which include one double and two single bedrooms.

Every apartment contains a living room, bathroom, and kitchen. The apartments are not air conditioned, so fans are recommended. Some guests bring reading lamps, though overhead lights are in every bedroom. Kitchens are not stocked with utensils or cooking supplies. Each kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, and oven.

The Parker Apartments are located on College Street, 0.4 miles from Lineberry Natatorium. Parker contains 45 townhouse-style apartments, split between three blocks. The 100 block has 21 apartments, the 200 block has 16 apartments, and the 300 block has 8 apartments.

Each apartment has a living room and kitchen on the first floor with bedrooms on the second floor. Most apartments are four-person apartments, which include two double bedrooms. Ten apartments are six-person apartments, which include three double bedrooms.

The University Court Apartments are located on College Street, 0.4 miles from Lineberry Natatorium. University Court contains 39 apartments, split between 10 buildings. Each building has two apartments on the first floor (A and B) and two apartments on the second floor (C and D).

All are four-person apartments, which include two double bedrooms.

If you would like to prepare meals in the kitchen, please note that the kitchens are not stocked with utensils or cooking supplies. Each kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, and oven.

University Rules and Regulations for Use of Residences and Facilities

Before paying for an apartment, please note the following rules and regulations for use of the residences and facilities.

Guests are not permitted to install portable air conditioners in any facilities, including window units in residential housing.

Furniture must remain in the room/unit which it is designated.

No University property may be removed from residence halls, college houses, apartments, or townhouses at any time.

No University furniture or property may be removed from lounges, conference rooms, or other community areas for use in other rooms.

With the exception of guide dogs and animals specifically approved for the educational purposes of the University, pets are not allowed in campus buildings, including residential housing. Guests who are found to have animals in their rooms may be asked to leave the premises.

The presence of individuals or objects on roof, balcony, or ledge areas is prohibited at all times, except in an emergency. Roof, balcony, and ledge areas are restricted for safety reasons and for protection of property.

It is a goal of the University to reduce the health risks of faculty, staff, students, and guests. A significant means of accomplishing this goal is to reduce the exposure to smoke and its adverse effects. Therefore, it is the policy and goal of the University to achieve a working and learning environment as close to smoke-free as possible and to comply with New York’s Clean Indoor Air Act. To achieve this goal, all indoor areas of the University are designated as no-smoking areas, in accordance with New York State Law. Therefore, no person shall smoke or carry a lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, or any other matter or substance which contains tobacco in any indoor area. Furthermore, no person shall smoke or carry cloves or any illegal substances including, but not limited to, marijuana in indoor areas. Indoor areas of the University include all Colgate-owned residential facilities. Smoking is also prohibited in Colgate-owned vehicles. Although all persons are strongly encouraged not to smoke at all on campus, smoking is permitted in areas outside of buildings. Individuals who choose to smoke outside should do so at a reasonable distance from any building entrances.

For reasons of health, safety, and maintenance, screens may not be removed from windows. If a window doesn’t have a screen, please report the missing screen to the University for replacement. In addition, decorations and personal items may not be hung outside a window or be placed on windowsills or ledges. Throwing objects out of windows is strictly prohibited.
