In his role, Kai aims to facilitate and enable faculty, staff, and students to conduct research and to provide high-performance computing resources. Students, Faculty, and Staff interested in research computational resources can benefit from research consultations, system implementations, troubleshooting, and research resource development.

There is a web app for requests, feedback, upcoming events, and information on research resources. With experience in web development and DevOps engineering, Kai seeks to streamline IT operations with a mindset for automation, collaboration, learning, and simplification.

Kai's research interests include applied psychology, mechatronics, and sound technology. Some research thrusts are computational thinking, human-computer interaction, multimodal learning, and social network analysis.
