Who is conducting the survey?

As the spring semester picks up, the Health and Wellness campus-wide survey is now open for all Colgate University students! This survey is conducted by Colgate Health and Wellness in partnership with the Dean of the College and Office of Institutional Analysis to assess student health and wellness at Colgate University. Colgate Health and Wellness is comprised of four offices, including Counseling and Psychological Services, Haven: Sexual Violence Support, Student Health Services, and the Shaw Wellness Institute.

How can I complete the survey?

We invite you to complete the survey, which you can find by accessing the email titled “Participate in the Colgate Health and Wellness Survey Today!” you received on February 21, 2025. Just a reminder that the survey closes at the end of the day on March 16, 2025!

What does taking the survey entail?

This is an abbreviated National College Health Assessment (NCHA) survey. It assesses students’ physical health, mental health, substance use, and sexual and reproductive health. It should take most students no longer than 5–10 minutes to complete. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and anonymous. This means nobody will know if you respond or how you answer the questions. You may also exit the survey at any time.

Why should you complete the survey?

We encourage all Colgate students to complete the survey by March 16 to help create a healthier campus community. Your responses will provide valuable insights into student well-being, allowing us to identify areas where support for students is most needed. A representative response will help shape future wellness programming, resources, and initiatives that will directly benefit you and your peers.

By participating, you can help us address gaps in services and ensure that student needs are being met. For example, if the survey reveals that students are not getting enough sleep, we can focus on promoting sleep hygiene and its impact on well-being. Your input plays a crucial role in shaping a campus environment that prioritizes student health and support.
