Carrie Keating, professor of psychology emerita, was on of six retiring faculty profiled in the summer 2025 edition of Colgate Magazine.  

“Whether heartfelt or feigned, face and body displays can be used to gain advantage during social interaction. Charismatic leaders are uniquely skilled at deploying these signaling systems: they artfully ‘orchestrate’ the emotions, thoughts, and behaviors of many individuals at once,” said Keating.
