Learn about financial aid credit balances for students studying off campus in the spring, details on spring financial aid disbursements, and when to apply for financial aid for the next academic year.
Spring 2026 Off-Campus Study Programs
For students participating in Spring 2026 Off-Campus Study Programs, credit balances from excess financial aid can be refunded two weeks prior to the program departure date. If there is an anticipated credit on the spring bill, contact the Office of Student Accounts at stuaccounts@colgate.edu to request an early release of the credit balance.
Spring 2026 Financial Aid Disbursements
Spring 2026 financial aid is scheduled to disburse on January 12, 2026. After the Office of Student Accounts assesses Spring 2026 charges, spring financial aid should display as a memo (an anticipated credit) towards those charges. If a financial aid memo is missing from the first spring billing notification, contact the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@colgate.edu.
2026–2027 Returning Student Financial Aid Requirements
The Financial Aid Office will email 2026-27 financial aid instructions to returning domestic students later this fall. Students must submit both the 26-27 FAFSA and the 26-27 CSS Profile applications, both of which are available to complete online now. Additional application requirements may be added after both applications are reviewed. Students will be able to view and confirm the receipt of all application requirements via their Colgate Financial Aid Portal. Only students have access to the Financial Aid Portal, not parents, so it is important for students to share what is required with their families. The priority deadline for returning students to apply for aid is January 31, 2026.
