Hamilton, NY — Last season, American and Colgate finished the regular season tied atop the Patriot League standings with a 5-1 record, American held the tiebreaker and hosted the Patriot League tournament.  This season, the two teams will decide the regular season crown on the field on Saturday, April 24, in Hamilton.

Both teams enter the contest boasting a perfect 5-0 conference record.  The Raiders enter the game on a four game winning streak, their second such streak this season.  American comes into the contest having won its last two games over Holy Cross and Monmouth.

Colgate is ranked in the top 20 in four team categories including scoring offense (19th) and defense (12), as well as scoring margin (13th) and winning percentage (16).

The team’s leading scorer Katie McVeigh is 15th in the country at 4.15 points per game and needs just two more points to surpass her mark of 55 of last season.  Colgate’s most improved player is goalie Sue Bielamowicz, after a struggle during her freshman season, she has rebounded as one of the top goalies in the country.  The sophomore is third in save percentage at .597 and 13th in goals against average at 8.14.

The Patriot League regular season championship and rights to host the post season tournament begins Saturday at 1 p.m. on Tyler’s Field.
