Visitors to the Village of Hamilton will have a new lodging option starting on Aug. 15, as the newly refurbished Hotel One75 will open its doors at 175 Utica Street.
The 94-room hotel is the largest lodging venue in the Village of Hamilton and just one mile from the doorstep of Colgate University. Formerly the Wendt University Inn, Hotel One75 has undergone many upgrades and renovations since the building was purchased by Colgate in 2020.
“Offering comfortable lodging near Colgate University is important for our prospective students and their families traveling to Hamilton, N.Y. for a tour, and for our dedicated alumni who often return to campus to visit for our various sporting and on-campus events,” said Colgate University Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Joseph Hope. “More visitors to our community also translates into more patrons for all the shops and restaurants in the village.”
Designed to provide a comfortable and clean experience that is slightly more casual than the nearby Colgate Inn, guests of Hotel One75 can find relaxation in a new outdoor courtyard, “The Quad,” outfitted with fire pits and lounge furniture — a perfect spot to enjoy the hotel’s complimentary wine or beer offerings, which will soon be offered to guests upon arrival. Hotel One75 also offers complimentary continental breakfast for all guests.
Updates to the hotel include new furniture, sleeper sofas, mattresses and linens, new TVs, and new in-room mini-fridges, along with other amenities.
Managed by Charlestowne Hotels, Hotel One75 will be under the same diligent care as the hotel experts managing The Colgate Inn on behalf of the University. Colgate Inn General Manager Kendra Young will also oversee Hotel One75. Young, an accomplished hotel and restaurant manager, was recently named Charlestowne Hotels’ general manager of the year for her work at the Colgate Inn.
