Colgate Unveils New Podcast: '13'

Back to All Stories

A core tenet of a liberal arts education is to never stop learning. Asking questions is essential to informed debate, and it is in that spirit that the Colgate University Office of Communications presents 13, which is now available on all major podcast platforms.

Each episode of this new bi-weekly show digs into the work of one Colgate community member by asking 13 questions. In the episode now available, Roy D. and Margaret B. Wooster Professor of the Classics Robert Garland shares his knowledge of the ancient world. Touching on topics from the funeral customs of Greece to the likely Twitterati of the ancient world, Garland paints a vivid picture of antiquity, illustrated with rich stories and anecdotes from his distinguished academic career.

Forthcoming episodes will highlight the wide array of academic disciplines at Colgate, with interviews featuring faculty from political science, sociology and anthropology, physics and astronomy, women’s studies, English, Africana and Latin American studies, and many more.

Perfect for a long commute or a lunch-time walk, 13 is sure to inform and entertain. If you have questions you’d like to have answered by a Colgate faculty or staff member, email 13@colgate.edu. If you enjoy the podcast, please subscribe and give a rating on iTunes or your podcast platform of choice.
