Rebecca Leonhard has worked in university and secondary school libraries across Switzerland, China, Germany, and Qatar since 2011, and now brings that global perspective to her role at Colgate University. Before moving abroad, she held positions in college and university libraries, including Penn State University Libraries, where she began her career in 2004.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Penn State University and a Master of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership with an emphasis on Educational Technology Leadership. Rebecca is actively involved in professional service, regularly serving on committees within the American Library Association (ALA) and the international library community. She currently chairs the Library and Information Services Committee for the Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS) and the Organization and Bylaws Committee for the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), where she also serves on the Board of Directors. In recognition of her leadership, Rebecca was named an American Library Association Emerging Leader in 2014.
