Ben Child teaches courses in American literature and the environmental humanities. His essays on literature, film, photography, and popular music have appeared or are forthcoming in journals such as American Literature, Modern Fiction Studies, American Studies, Southern Cultures, and Popular Music and Society. Child's book, Uneven Ground: Figurations of the Rural Modern in the U.S. South, is under contract to appear in the University of Georgia Press's New Southern Studies series in 2019. His current research addresses literary reflections and productions of U.S. populism.
