Arrival Day
 Session 1  Session 2
Session 1 participants are not able to move into their rooms until you return for Orientation. 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
If you completed an early arrival application on the Colgate Housing Portal, you'll be able to pick up your room key at the Residential Life Office and move your belongings into your room. If you arrive later than 2:00 PM, you can request Campus Safety to let you into your room, but you won't be able to get your key until you return from your WA trip.

NOTE: If you are mailing boxes to campus, do not mail anything you will need for your WA trip - mail can be lost or delayed, which could negatively impact your trip.
2:30–3:15 p.m.
Check in for WA is open at Basecamp. Parking is available in the lot behind the Trudy Fitness Center.
3:30 p.m.
WA gets underway. Say goodbye to your family and get ready for your adventure!
3:45–6:00 p.m.
Begin getting to know everyone. Review all the gear you brought with you and get any gear that you rented.
6:30–9:30 p.m.
Head to the Beattie Reserve for dinner. Pitch your tent for the first time, and try to get some sleep; your trip starts bright and early the next morning.

During the trip

Morning

Wake up early, help prepare breakfast and learn to use your camp stove. Get ready for the day - this might mean packing up your camp in preparation for a day of backpacking, canoeing, or kayaking; or it might mean packing a day pack in order to go out for a day of hiking, climbing, or paddling.

Afternoon

In the woods, on the water, or at the crag, you'll have lots to talk about and learn about as you travel through the Adirondacks. You'll have plenty of snacks during the day, but you'll also stop to enjoy lunch and probably an amazing view!

Evening

Arrive at your spot for the night, set up your tents, and maybe start thinking about what's for dinner. You might play some games, learn about Colgate or the Adirondacks, or just hang out and get to know people better. Help prepare and enjoy a tasty dinner. Eventually, the sun will set and you'll get ready for bed.
