Nearly 5,000 people listened to the Dalai Lama speak at Colgate on April 22 as part of the Global Leaders Lecture Series, sponsored by the university's Parents' and Grandparents' Fund.
His Holiness also shared many personal moments with members of the campus and local communities during luncheons and discussions held during his two-day visit.
The Dalai Lama's visit generated widespread media coverage. Stories appeared in international newspapers such as the The Times of India and locally in the The (Syracuse) Post-Standard and Utica Observer-Dispatch. Local TV coverage was extensive, and film crews from two Japanese TV stations were on campus.
