Dear Colgate Community,
Today, mother nature is gently reminding us that fall in the Chenango Valley, with all its loveliness, is still not for the faint of heart. The EOC and both task forces hear the rolling thunder — and the rumble of winter as it comes in behind the rain clouds and falling leaves. These faculty and staff members are planning diligently for next semester, when we will once again, if all goes well, return for in-person instruction.
Our preparations for fall took place while students were, for the most part, away from campus. The work we do now for 2021 is bound to be more front-of-mind for everyone in the community. I wanted to reaffirm here that the results of our efforts will be communicated as soon as possible. We know that there are thousands of students — and an even greater number of family members — watching for word, anxious to make plans of their own. Stay tuned.
In the meanwhile, we have included more images of students enjoying last weekend’s campfires and classes embracing the great outdoors. You’ll also find a few updates from campus colleagues.

We are still accepting photographs of students, faculty, and staff — masked and on campus! All Colgate community members are encouraged to participate. Make sure your image is appropriate, and remember to remain at least 6 feet apart if you have more than one person in the photograph. Send your submissions to broadcast@colgate.edu.
Sadly, Colgate’s student-operated radio station, WRCU FM Hamilton, will be off the air until the spring semester due to an equipment malfunction. Tune in to 90.1 FM for WRVO and NPR news.
COVID Alert NY is the official New York Exposure Notification System app. This free smartphone app uses Bluetooth technology to alert users if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 — without compromising privacy or personal information. It also keeps users up to date on the fight against COVID-19 in New York. You can download it today via the App Store or Google Play.
