Regional Research

We encourage scholarship on, or directly pertaining to, the upstate region of New York by providing support for both the costs of research as well as stipend awards for the researchers.
Students and faculty bring their Upstate Institute experiences and research back to campus to share with others.

Student Research

Students doing honors-level senior research can receive support by being named an Upstate Research Fellow. In past years, the Upstate Institute also has funded research projects that have benefitted the region. Students in our Summer Field School also may do research with community organizations.
