About the Training Process
The full training experience is eight months of experiential lessons and weekly classes and seminars that bring you together with other highly engaged and diverse first-years and sophomores. Students who complete the training program are generally hired to our staff to teach physical education classes
, lead Wilderness Adventure
trips, and provide group development
opportunities for the Colgate community.
You will participate in hands-on trips to the Adirondacks and other destinations to strengthen technical skills, to instill a sense of risk assessment and management, to promote a passion for the natural world, and to develop teaching and leadership skills — regardless of experience level.
