Extracurricular Opportunities

Both the department and the German Club sponsor extracurricular opportunities focused on German language and culture. Some of the more regular opportunities are listed below. We look forward to seeing you!

Kaffeestunde

Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Max Kade German Center, Lawrence Hall

Germans traditionally have "Kaffee and Kuchen" in the afternoon, so each Wednesday at 3:00 pm we invite you to stop by the Max Kade Center in Lawrence Hall (campus map) for a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and some cookies and cake.

German faculty also frequently attend, giving you the chance to talk to lots of different people, play games, talk about potential events, and more!

Table of Babel

The Table of Babel gives you the opportunity to chat with others who are interested in German over lunch. The event, which brings both professors and interested students together, occurs every Tuesday during the semester from 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at Frank Dining Hall (campus map). Check the campus calendar for the next event.
