Members of the Colgate community and others with a passion for literature have an opportunity to take advantage of the unique Living Writers course being offered this fall by the English Department.

Ten acclaimed writers, including three Pulitzer Prize winners, are coming to campus to meet with students and to offer public readings, which will include time for questions and answers. The readings are free and open to the public. The sessions also will be shown live over the web, where an interactive chat will enable immediate discussion, and recorded for future viewing.

Three "book club" sessions involving authors, students, and faculty members also will be webcast live and recorded, as well as a panel discussion on publishing.

Frederick Busch, a former Colgate professor and author of more than 20 novels, created the Living Writers course in 1980. In its latest incarnation, the course is co-taught by professors Jane Pinchin and Jennifer Brice.
