July 23, 2021 — Arrival Day and Time Survey

Back to Messages to New Students

Dear Colgate Students,

I hope you are enjoying a bit of summer relaxation before you arrive next month. We are so excited to see you on campus, and I write today to share information about the arrival process.

Whether you are living on campus or in private off-campus housing, all students are required to check-in at the Hall of Presidents in James C. Colgate Hall upon arrival to campus. Please complete the below survey to select your approved arrival day and time from the options listed so we know when you will be arriving on campus and to help us properly plan for check-in. Any unavoidable arrival outside of the pre-approved arrival times must be submitted for review within the survey.

COMPLETE SURVEY

During check-in, Dean of the College staff will be available to distribute room keys, confirm your COVID-19 vaccination status, activate your ‘Gate Card, and assist with the completion of other requirements.

If you are unable to complete your COVID-19 vaccination prior to returning to campus, please contact Student Health Services to schedule an appointment prior to your arrival. Answers to frequently asked questions about the University’s vaccination requirement are available online.

While we are planning for a semester with fewer COVID-19 restrictions, I also want to acknowledge the changing global picture with respect to the virus and its variants. Colgate’s dedicated health and safety experts continue to monitor these developments, along with guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and we will communicate any specific requirements related to testing or other preventative measures should we need to make adjustments. As always, the health and wellbeing of our community is at the forefront of all of our decisions, and we will keep you informed as we prepare for the fall.

Please feel free to reach out to my office, or the Office of Residential Life, if you have any questions. I am happy to assist, and we look forward to seeing you very soon.

Respectfully,

Dorsey Spencer Jr., Ph.D.
Dean of Students
