Following an academic year interrupted by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, commencement for the Class of 2020 is unprecedented in Colgate history.

In-Person Ceremony, May 29, 2022

President Casey announced in March 2021 that on Memorial Day Weekend 2022 (May 28–29), Colgate will welcome the Class of 2020 to campus for an in-person ceremony and other festivities. The ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m.

“We certainly believe that next summer presents a far better chance to have the type of event with the number of guests you would want in Hamilton,” said Casey. Colgate will work with class leaders to plan a rich and full weekend of events celebrating the class’s 2020 graduation and their first reunion.

Class members can email ideas and suggestions for the weekend to commencement2020@colgate.edu. Stay tuned for details, which will be sent to the class by email and posted on this page.

Meanwhile, you can watch the class's official conferral of degrees ceremony, which took place online on May 17, 2020.
