The full cost of the conference is as follows.

In every case, the price includes tuition, food and lodging. 

The full conference + a 5-person, manuscript-intensive workshop in fiction or nonfiction.

The retreater option (access to all conference offerings except workshops)

We offer generous scholarship aid to those who need it, and we also offer two fully paid fellowships to the conference. Financial aid is not available to retreaters. The deadline to apply for financial aid is Friday, March 18, 2022.

Notes

  • For out-of-town guests, a shuttle to/from the Syracuse airport or the Utica train station can be added for a small fee.
  • Area residents who don’t require lodging for the week should contact us for a discounted rate.
  • The coronavirus pandemic has introduced a note of uncertainty in everyone’s plans. If we’re forced to cancel on account of a spike in numbers, we will offer full refunds of deposits and other payments.

Payment

Participants enrolled in workshops (long- and short-form)

  • A $250 deposit is required within two weeks of acceptance to hold a spot in the offered workshop
  • 50% of the total cost (including the $250) is due by April 1
  • Participants admitted after April 1 will need to pay 50% of the total cost within two weeks of acceptance

 

Participants enrolled in the jumpstarter workshop or retreat

  • A $250 deposit is required within two weeks of acceptance to hold a spot in the offered workshop
  • 50% of the total cost (including the $250 deposit) is due by April 1
  • Participants admitted after April 1 will need to pay 50% of the total cost within two weeks of acceptance
  • Payment in full is due by May 1
