Fellowships, Scholarships, and Discounts

Scholarships

Scholarships are available to help some participants defray the cost of attendance. Because funds are limited and we try to help as many applicants as possible, we limit scholarship awards to $100 - $500 for the short form workshops or $100 - $600 for the long form workshops. Note: You may apply for both a fellowship and a scholarship.

Discounts

  • Colgate University and conference alumni receive an automatic $100 discount.
  • If you refer a new participant, you will receive a $100 discount on your conference fee. (The person you refer should list your name on their application.)
  • If you submit your 50% deposit on or before March 30, 2019, you will receive a $50 discount.

Fellowships

We're pleased to announce that the Colgate Writers' Conference will offer two fellowships for this summer. During the application process, we will select two fellows whose work shows exceptional promise. The fellows will receive a full scholarship for tuition, room, and board, and they will give a public reading of their work at end of the week. These fellowships will give us a chance to spotlight some of the amazing work written by conference writers. Would you like your writing sample to be considered for a fellowship? Note: You may apply for both a fellowship and a scholarship.
